Wooden-Pixel

The studio

Four people, a workbench, and a lot of little blocks.

Wooden-Pixel Studios is an independent game studio founded in 2025. We make original games for families, friends, and anyone who still likes to play.

Our story

Why wooden pixels?

A wooden block is the first toy most of us remember. A pixel is the smallest piece of a screen. Put them together and you get our whole philosophy: simple pieces, stacked carefully, that add up to something you want to keep playing with.

We started with one idea that refused to go away: a ridiculous sprint through airports with a mind-controlling monkey. That became Super Danger Departure, our first release. Two more worlds are on the bench behind it, and each one is being built the same way: small, playable early, and honest about what it is.

We don't run ads, we don't sell loot boxes, and we don't make you create an account to play. When a game costs money, you pay once and it's yours.

What we believe

Four rules on the workshop wall

  • Play is the point

A game earns its place by being fun in the first thirty seconds and still fun on the thirtieth day. Everything else is negotiable.

  • Families are players too

Kids deserve games that respect them, and parents deserve games they can sit down for. We build for the couch, not the funnel.

  • Small and finished

We would rather ship something small that works than announce something huge that never arrives. Scope is a design tool.

  • Show the sawdust

We write about what broke, what we cut, and what we learned. Making games is messy. Pretending otherwise helps nobody.

How we work

From sketch to shipped

  1. 01

    Sketch

Every game starts as a one-page idea and a paper prototype. If it isn't fun on paper, it won't be fun on a screen.

  2. 02

    Build

Short loops. Playable builds every week. The whole team plays, and the whole family plays.

  3. 03

    Ship

Our games run in the browser first, so anyone with a link can play. Native builds follow when a game earns them.

  4. 04

    Keep going

A release is a beginning. We listen, fix, and add. Your purchase covers the game, not a subscription.

Play & Learn

Games that teach without lecturing

Alongside our adventure games we are exploring a line of small, playful learning games for younger kids. Early days, but the box art is already better than it needs to be.
